Description

RMIT Europe: Building Strategic Research Partnerships through Horizon Europe This presentation by Dr Marta Fernandez, CEO of RMIT Europe, explores how RMIT's European hub has established a strong platform for connecting Australian research capability with the European research and innovation ecosystem. The session highlights RMIT Europe’s role in facilitating international collaboration, supporting participation in Horizon Europe, and fostering partnerships between universities, industry, government, and community stakeholders. The presentation provides valuable insights into the development and coordination of complex, multi-partner Horizon Europe projects, demonstrating how strategically positioned institutional hubs can increase access to funding opportunities, strengthen international networks, and deliver research impact. A featured case study is AuSpire (Australia-Spain Network for Innovation and Research Excellence), a €7.2 million, five-year postdoctoral training programme co-funded by the European Union, which includes participation from the University of Canberra. This resource is particularly relevant for researchers, research managers, and professional staff interested in international collaboration, consortium building, research mobility, and engagement with Horizon Europe funding opportunities.
